The Benjamin Moore Ben Color Capture app may not be color accurate but it is a lot of fun! It’s also free:)
First you decide if you want to use an existing photo or take one. Or you can pick a shade from the color wheel.
Then the fun starts! Now, my purse is actually a coral color, nothing close to red or pink, but whatever. You move the droplet that appears on you pic until you see a shade you like then you pick “Strip” or “Harmony” from the top bar. “Strip” gives you a color gradient strip across the bottom of the screen featuring colors darker and lighter than the one you selected. “Harmony” gives you a strip featuring complementary colors. I LOVE this feature, it tells you “what goes”, which is always the info I need.
You also have the option to “favorite” a color. You can tell your past favorites because they have a little star on them.
You can keep lots of favorites, and make notes about them. The ones you have made notes on have a folded down corner.
You can also see any color in full screen by double tapping it. That way you can put your iPhone against the drapes or the dog to see what color will look best.
Again, the color accuracy is hit or miss, but I love this app. As a free app from a company I think it has a lot of cool features and is definitely worth a look. You can also seek out a Benjamin Moore store within the app if you need to see the true colors of any of the paint it suggests.
